Vegan French Toast

There’s just something so special about french toast. Technically, it’s just bread dunked in batter and fried in a pan, right? BUT, there’s something quite magical about a plate of soft, custardy bread, crisped with golden brown edges and drizzled with warm maple syrup. The best part? This vegan french toast can be made with just 7 ingredients and less than 10 minutes!

Type of bread to use

The best type of vegan bread to use for french toast is one that is sturdy and slightly stale. Breads like Brioche, French Baguette, or Sourdough. And it’s best to use bread that is a day or two old.

Vegan French Toast

For this super easy vegan french toast recipe, you only need 7 ingredients! Crispy golden-brown on the outside, sweet and fluffy on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • 4 slices bread sturdy day-old bread

Batter

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp tapioca starch
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Topping Suggestions

  • blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries
  • powdered sugar or warm maple syrup

Instructions

  • Mix all the batter ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Place bread slices in a shallow dish, and pour the batter over the bread. Soak each slice for about 1 minute. Be sure not to over-soak, for it might fall apart.
  • Heat vegan butter in a pan and add the bread. Cook on medium for 2~3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Serve while warm with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • パン 4枚 フランスパンの様な硬めのパンがベスト
  • ヴィーガンバター 大さじ1

つけ液

  • アーモンドミルク 1カップ
  • タピオカでん粉 大さじ1.5
  • メープルシロップ 大さじ1/2
  • シナモンパウダー 小さじ1/2
  • バニラエキストラクト 小さじ1/2

Instructions

  • つけ液の材料を全てボウルに入れて混ぜる。
  • パンを平たい容器に入れ、つけ液をかける。つける時間は一枚1分。
  • フライパンにヴィーガンバターを熱し、パンを焼く。片面2〜3分焼き、焼き色がついたら出来上がり。
  • お好みのフルーツやメープルシロップをかけてお召し上がりください!
