Cherry Crisp
A vegan Cherry Crisp is one of my favorite desserts to make during the summer season. All you need are fresh (or frozen) cherries, and some basic pantry ingredients to make the crunchy crisp topping. It’s packed full of flavor and texture! Just add your favorite non-dairy ice cream or whipped cream on top, and you have yourself the yummiest dessert that is sure to be everyone’s summer favorite.
What Ingredients You Need
Here is a list of ingredients you will need to make Vegan Cherry Crisp.
For the Cherry Base:
- Cherries
- Cornstarch
- Maple Syrup
For the Crisp Topping:
- Flour
- Rolled oats
- Sugar
- Vegan butter
- Baking powder
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
- Walnuts (optional)

Ingredient Notes
Cherries – you can use either fresh or frozen cherries. Cherries like Bing cherries or “American Cherries” (in Japan) are the best for this recipe. These cherries are deep red to mahogany in color, and they are very sweet, firm and juicy.
Flour – To make the crisp topping, you can use any type of flour, but I usually use all-purpose or cake flour. They give the topping a very light, flaky texture.
Sugar – I use coconut sugar for this recipe. Other types of granulated sugar you could use are maple sugar, cane sugar, or brown sugar.
Vegan butter – For most of my baking, I use vegan butter from Naturli. You could also use vegan margarine or coconut oil, such as Nutiva’s Butter Flavored Coconut Oil.
Walnuts – I love adding chopped walnuts in the topping for added texture and flavor. Other types of nuts you could add are almonds, pecans, or cashew nuts.
How to Make Cherry Crisp
A detailed recipe is in the recipe card at the bottom of this post, but let me give you a quick overview of the process. It will take less than 15 minutes to prep!
Prepare the base – add pitted cherries, cornstarch and maple syrup to a bowl and toss until cherries are evenly coated.
Make the crisp topping – in a separate bowl, mix all the ingredients for the crisp topping. Use your hands to incorporate the butter evenly.
Bake – to a greased baking dish, add the cherry base and sprinkle the crisp topping on top of the cherries. Bake in the oven at 375 F/190 C for 30 minutes.
How to Serve and Store
Serve warm with your favorite nondairy vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Ingredients
For the Cherry Base
- 2 cups cherries pitted (fresh or thawed frozen)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
For the Crisp Topping
- 1/4 cup flour all-purpose or cake flour
- 1/4 cup rolled (old-fashioned) oats
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp vegan butter
- 1/4 cup walnuts roughly chopped
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
Additional topping suggestions
- non-dairy vanilla ice cream
- non-dairy whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 F / 190 C.
- Add cherries, maple syrup and cornstarch to a bowl and toss to combine evenly.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the crips topping and mix. Use your hands to incorporate the butter evenly.
- Grease a baking dish and add the cherry base. Sprinkle the crisp topping over the cherries.
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Let it cool 10 minutes. Serve warm with a topping of non-dairy vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!
ヴィーガン・チェリークランブルのレシピ
ヴィーガン・チェリークランブル
Ingredients
- アメリカン・チェリー 2カップ(約300g)
- コーンスターチ 大さじ1 無ければ片栗粉でもOK
- メープルシロップ 大さじ1
クランブルの材料
- 薄力粉 1/4カップ
- オートミール 1/4カップ
- ココナッツシューガー 大さじ3 てんさい糖でもOK
- ヴィーガンバター又はマーガリン 大さじ2
- くるみ、粗く刻む 1/4カップ
- ベーキングパウダー 小さじ1/4
- バニラエキストラクト 小さじ1/2
- 塩 ひとつまみ
Instructions
- オーブンを190C / 375Fに予熱する。
- チェリーの種を取り除いて、メープルシロップとコーンスターチをまぶす。
- 別のボウルにクランブルの材料を全て入れて、混ぜる。手でしっかり混ぜるとバッターが材料と馴染みます。
- 耐熱皿にチェリーを移し、上にクランブルをかける。
- オーブンで30分焼く。上のクランブルにこんがり焼き色がついたら出来上がり!
- 10分冷ましてから、お皿にとりわけてください。暖かいチェリークランブルの上にヴィーガンのバニラアイスをのせるのがオススメです!
