Easy Bok Choy Recipe
This is a quick and easy recipe for pan-seared bok choy with sweet brown sauce. All you need are baby bok choy, some basic pantry ingredients, and 15 minutes to make this satisfying veggie side dish.

- 4 baby bok choy cut in half (or quarters depending on size)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp water
- sesame seeds for garnish
For the sauce
- 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
- 1 Tbsp mirin
- 1 Tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 1 clove garlic grated
- 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 100 ml water
Cut baby bok choy in half, or in quarters depending on size. Wash under cold running water to clean between the leaves.
Heat sesame oil in a pan, and place sliced bok choy cut-side down. Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes. Add 1 Tbsp water, and cover with a lid. Cook for 3 minutes on medium.
While the boy choy is cooking, mix together the ingredients for the brown sauce. Set aside.
Remove the lid from the the pan, and flip each bok choy over. Cook on high heat for 1 minute. Remove bok choy from the pan.
Add the brown sauce to the pan, and simmer until sauce thickens. Pour the sauce over the plated bok choy, and sprinkle sesame seeds. ENJOY!
